TrueFlow inlet pipes are now available separately for most popular V8 Mustang applications. These inlet assemblies offer three key features which have made them a very popular bolt-on for use with a wide variety of air meters. The cast aluminum finish with blue silicone hoses really dress up the engine compartment and are much more attractive than the factory black rubber assembly. Due to the fact that these pipes are cast, the inside diameter is consistent all the way through the pipe from the air meter to the throttle body and this is what gives it the name "TrueFlow". By eliminating the flexible ridges in the factory rubber inlet tubes and by controlling the inside diameter for consistency, a modest horsepower gain is achieved.

Most vehicles will receive approximately 3 rear wheel horsepower, however several tests have been reported to show as much as 5 horsepower on some applications. For those who are interested in running nitrous oxide, we have cast a special nitrous boss into each TrueFlow inlet pipe to give you a solid location in which to drill and tap your nozzle. Due to the fact that these pipes are solid aluminum and are mounted directly to the engine, we do not recommend mounting the mass air flow unit (through a bracket) to the body of the vehicle. When using an aftermarket intake that relocates the throttle body away from the stock position, it may be necessary to make minor modifications for proper fit.

Installation of this kit is quite simple and should take no more than 20 minutes to complete. For instillation, you will need; a flat head screwdriver.

We've got the kit for your 4-valve 4.6L Mustang. This package features a brand new 80/85mm housing, conical K&N Filter and a plastic shield to cover the filter and hold the assembly in place. Through extensive testing on C&L's DynoJet dynamometer, they have found consistently excellent results. On a 2-valve model horsepower increases by fourteen with a solid average of ten more horsepower by 3000 RPM to redline. The 4-valve model also benefits from the deeper breathing of this package adding a minimum of eleven horsepower with a peak of sixteen more horsepower. These results were achieved on a vehicle that was equipped with a K&N filter in their factory airbox assembly.

This package gives you the best performance AS DELIVERED and is not inteneded to be used in conjunction with any "cold air" or "ram air" packages. Dyno testing has proven that C&L's system provides more horsepower "exactly as delivered" from C&L.

Installation time is approximately 10 minutes. Here's how: Take off the stock air box and the hose clamps securing the mass air meter. The electronics are unbolted from the factory plastic mass air meter and installed on the C&L meter. The new meter is clamped to the stock rubber inlet tube. Install the new air filter cover and you're done.

C&L TrueFlow Filter Systems are designed for those who are looking for a complete low cost replacement for the poor flowing original factory air box used on all 1996-2004 Ford Mustang GT, Cobra vehicles. These kits are "meter forward" packages for those people who are not interested in upgrading the mass airflow unit at this time, yet still want the flexibility to upgrade their inlet pipe and mass airflow units as they see fit.

Each system comes complete with a mass airflow filter adapter, adapter hardware, conical high performance air filter and specific molded filter cover for each vehicle application.

Installation of this kit is quite simple and should take no more than 15 minutes to complete. For installation, you will need; a flat head screwdriver, a ¼ drive socket wrench with a ¼ socket and a small adjustable wrench.
